Katie Langston is a doubter by nature and a believer by grace. She grew up Mormon in a close-knit college town in northern Utah and still isn’t sure she fits in anywhere large enough to have a Target.

Katie considers herself a “recovering perfectionist.” Over a decade ago, the balm of Christ’s grace found her in a moment of crisis and healed her over-scrupulous conscience. She spent the next several years trying to make Mormon teaching fit a grace-based worldview, only to discover they weren’t particularly compatible. Through tears and heartache, she decided to move on from Mormonism and explore the wider world of Christianity.

Katie is now a candidate for ordination in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Associate Director of Internal Communications at Luther Seminary. Her approach to theology is realistic but faithful; orthodox but seeking. She is a digital communications strategist, writer, evangelist, and preacher.

In her spare time, Katie enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, taking day trips, cheering on the Minnesota Lynx and the Utah Jazz, and watching the handful of television programs she can’t live without.

A brief narrative of her conversion can be found here and here.
